These Usui Reiki training manuals are from the "White Light" or "Johrei" approach, which includes the traditional aspects of Reiki, with some additional hand placements & diagnostic techniques as well. "Johrei" is the Japanese word for "purify the spirit", and "Reiki" translates into "universal spiritual consciousness". This is a natural approach to healing the mind, body & soul. The author of these manuals received all of her trainings from an open-minded, spiritually awakened Catholic Nun. Although Reiki is not a religion, it is very spiritual in nature, and the core principles are compatible with all religious & spiritual paths. Under this lineage, there are four degrees, rather than three. It is recommended that a provider practice at each level for a period of time before moving to the next degree. In order for a practitioner to receive the title of Reiki Master Teacher (4th Degree), a great deal of training & experience with daily practice is needed. These training manuals include journal topics & exercises for the 21 day cleanse, as well as for daily reflections during your magical journey. These manuals are to be used under the guidance of a Reiki Master Teacher. Learning Reiki requires an "attunement" from a certified Reiki Master.
